Have you been informed...?
- National organizations are bound to inform the public
-
But
- The citizens are informed from a one-sided point of view. "If
we inform the public properly we won't be able to procure organs
any longer", stated Professor Pichlmair in 1985.
- Doctors are obliged to report prospective organ donors. This
report is made without consent or knowledge of next of kin.
- On the basis of an assumed prospective brain death the patient
is already treated in the interest of organ recipients. Next of kin
are made to believe that doctors are still doing their best for
their patient.
- About 95 out of 100 brain dead patients whose organs were
removed did not consent of their own accord.
